The Beauty of Butterkäse

Happy are they who take life day by day, complain very little, and are thankful for the little things in life.

One of my favorite cheeses seemed fitting for one of my first posts.

I was introduced to this cheese by the staff sponsor of my cheese club in high school - yes, it was a thing. He explained it as rich and furthermore, amazing.

In literal terms, the name Butterkase means butter cheese. Hm, butter and cheese together. Must be good, right?

The cheese is buttery in flavor - no surprise there - with a creamy and smooth texture. The fat content on this puppy is at 50%, meaning this highly decadent cheese isn’t something you should enjoy on the regular if you’re watching the waistline.

Just the same, it is seriously awesome.

Pairings:
