Attitude of Gratitude

Happy, happy Thanksgiving!!

Every year, at least for the past few, I find myself sitting down to write a post about this holiday, appreciation and what it means to me.

I’m pulling from the archives for this post because the words I’ve said in years past still ring true. Possibly even more true.

It is an often forgotten holiday but it’s, personally, my favorite. Despite the speckled past of the first Thanksgivings, how could you not love a holiday centered around food, spending time with your people (whomever they may be), and being thankful for the life you live?

Life may not be going perfectly but when you look around, it is still pretty awesome. Simply for being alive and breathing with food in your belly and a roof over your head.

There’s a quote out there that is along the lies of happy people don’t have the best of everything, they make the best of everything they have.

For all intensive purposes, THIS is the practical definition for gratefulness/thankfulness. It’s a practice of not about focusing on what you don’t have, it’s about enjoying and appreciating what you do have.

From a Law of Attraction standpoint, the more we are grateful for, the more abundance (not talking financial) we will receive. Because we aren’t focusing on the lack, we don’t get more of what’s lacking.

Appreciating your life is one of the KEY powers of soul reveling and living a happy life.

We sum up our "giving thanks" to one day of the year. When in actuality, we would experience much happier lives if this was our way of how we see the world.

In 2015, I was just tapping into seeing the world from this perspective and the power of soul reveling.

This time of year – and I’m sure a lot of you can relate – always makes me reflect and think about life. I have tried to adapt this type of thinking to everyday rather than limiting it to this time of year.

Use this day to pause and reflect on all the awesomeness of life.

Even with all of the things that have changed in my life recently, I am still thankful for the life I live and who I have become. I feel fortunate for all the opportunities I have been afforded, the places I’ve seen, the people who surround me and the life I have been given.

With everything that is going on in the world, we often forget about the good things and the things we truly have to be thankful for in our lives.

We find ourselves stressing about a measly dot on the page without thinking about the big picture. We often find ourselves taking our life for granted.

Giving thanks, to me, means saying “yes” to life!

Appreciating what has been, what is and what will be.

Lots of love & thanks,
